Understanding and modeling the trajectories of change in broad level interactions food-energy-water systems is incomplete when it undertaken by researchers isolation from those who live work systems. For models outcomes to have validity they need be subjected sustained development iteration with stakeholders. This requires a paradigm shift our thinking stakeholder engagement viewing such as an isolated activity or part data collection methods process knowledge generation.
